Bu çalışmanın amacı, okul öncesi dönem çocuklarına oyunlaştırma yöntemini kullanarak algoritma konusunun öğretilmesidir. Araştırma kapsamında 2018-2019 eğitim-öğretim yılı güz döneminde, Konya Ereğli Bil Kolejinde öğrenim gören 12 okul öncesi öğrencisi ile uygulama gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırma eylem araştırması desenine göre yürütülmüştür. Araştırmanın amacı doğrultusunda okul öncesi dönem çocuklarına robotik kodlama dersi kapsamında, bu derse temel oluşturan algoritma eğitimi, geliştirilen hikâyeler ve hazırlanan yazılım üzerinden gerçekleştirilen etkinliklerin, çocukların derse olan motivasyonlarına ve öğrenme süreçlerine etkisi incelenmiştir. Hikâyeler ve yazılım uygulama sürecinde etkinlikler rozet, ödül gibi oyunlaştırma öğeleri ile de zenginleştirilmiştir. Çalışmanın sonucunda oyunlaştırmayla öğrenmenin okul öncesi dönem çocuklarının algoritma ve sıra kavramını öğrenmesinde etkili olduğu, bir problem durumunu analiz ederek adımlarına ayırabildikleri görülmüştür. Okul öncesi dönem çocuklarının oyunlaştırma sürecini eğlenceli buldukları, rozet ve ödülün motivasyonlarını canlı tuttuğu ve etkinliklere katılmak istedikleri ulaşılan sonuçlardan en önemlisidir. Bu süreç bir sonraki aşama olan kodlamaya geçişte önemli bir kazanım ortaya koymuştur.
The aim of this study is to teach the subject of algorithm using the method of playing for pre-school children. In the framework of the research, in the 2018-2019 educational year, the application was carried out with 12 pre-school students studying at Konya Ereğli Bil College. The research is conducted according to the action research pattern. In accordance with the purpose of the study, in the framework of the robotic coding lesson for pre-school children, the algorithm education, the developed stories and the impact of the activities carried out through the prepared software, the motivations of children and the learning processes were studied. Stories and programming are also enriched with gameplay items such as roset, prize, the events in the application process. The study found that learning with playmaking is effective in learning the algorithm and order concepts of pre-school children, and they can differentiate their steps by analyzing a problem state. The most important of the achieved results is that their pre-school children find the play-making process fun, that they keep the motivations of the roset and prize alive and that they want to participate in the events. This process has shown a significant achievement in the transition to the next phase of coding.
The aim of this study is to teach the subject of algorithm to preschool children by using gamification method. Within the scope of the research, implementation was carried out with 12 pre-school students studying at Konya Eregli Bil College in the fall semester of the 2018-2019 academic year. The research was carried out according to the action research pattern. In line with the purpose of the research, the effects of the activities on the motivation and learning processes of the children in the lesson were investigated within the scope of the robotics and coding course for preschool children. In the process of stories and software implementation, activities were enriched with gamification elements such as badges and awards. As a result of the study; It has been observed that learning through gamification is effective in learning the concept and algorithm concept of preschool children, they can analyze a problem situation and take it into steps. The most important result is that preschool children find the gamification process funny, keep the motivations of the badge and award alive and want to participate in the activities. This process revealed a significant gain in transition to coding, which is the next stage.
