Abstract:

The aim of this research is to identify the beliefs of the educational philosophy of the teacher candidates and to reveal the relationship between educational beliefs and democratic attitudes. This research, designed according to the Nicel research method, carries imaginary qualities. The study group formed a total of 263 teachers candidates who are teaching at the Necmettin Erbakan University Education Faculty. The collection of research data has been used by Yılmaz, Altınkurt, Multitude (2011) developed "Education Faith Scale" and Gözütok (1995) developed "Democratic Attitude Scale". In the analysis of the data, visual statistics were used, Mann Whitney U and Spearman Order Differences Correlation Scorecard. Research findings have found that teachers' candidates accept the multi-existing and advanced education philosophy; that the educational philosophies differ according to gender and teaching program. There have been meaningful relationships between the educational philosophies and the democratic attitudes of the teachers candidates.
