Abstract:

Interview quality is a data collection technique that is often preferred in research, which is used to conduct deep research in the discovery of social reality. Collecting face-to-face data with the people encountered is a factor that increases the depth of research. Violence, negligence, abuse, women, children, marriage, awareness, perception differences, etc. Many types of conversations are used in the collection of data on topics. The data obtained during the interview process cannot be processed with numbers such as quantitative research and many factors relating to the subject appear during the interview process. The assessment of these factors and the processing of data is a multi-dimensional process. The knowledge and understanding of the conversation, which is a qualitative research method for the success of this process and the achievement of the conclusion, is an important element. In this context, the article aims to explain the techniques and types of conversation used in research techniques. The research conducted in the process of understanding social reality focused on the place, importance, necessity of the use of the conversation technique. As a research technique, it was intended to make a general assessment on topics such as what the conversation is, the reason, the types of the conversation, the application of the conversation, the selection of the people to be discussed, the management of the conversation, the recording of the data in the conversation process, the analysis of the conversation data, the strengths and weaknesses of the conversation technique and the proposals for solutions were developed.
