Bu çalışmada, medya destekli güncel biyoloji konularının öğretimi ile ilgili öğretmen adaylarının görüşleri belirlenmeye çalışılmıştır. Bu amaç doğrultusunda çalışmada nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden durum çalışması deseni kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu ise Fen Bilgisi Öğretmenliği Anabilim Dalında Biyoloji Özel Konular dersine devem eden 53 son sınıf öğrencisi oluşturmaktadır. Çalışma grubuna Biyoloji Özel Konular dersi kapsamında 10 hafta boyunca medya destekli güncel biyoloji konuları işlenmiştir. Dersin sonunda öğretmen adaylarına 7 adet açık uçlu sorulardan oluşan bir form dağıtılmış ve öğretmen adaylarının vermiş oldukları yanıtlar içerik analizi tekniği ile analiz edilmiştir. Verilerin analizi sonucunda; öğretmen adaylarının bilgiye erişimde kullandıkları kanalların instagram, twitter, Google arama motoru, facebook, youtube, bilimsel dergiler, haber programları, kitaplar, ansiklopediler, belgeseller ve gazeteler şeklinde sıralamışlardır. Ayrıca bu iletişim kanallarından edindikleri güncel bilgileri günlük yaşamlarıyla daha fazla ilişkilendirebildiklerini ifade etmişlerdir. Güncel bilgilerin derste kullanılması, derslerin eğlenceli geçmesi, derse olan ilginin artması, hızlı öğrenmenin gerçekleşmesi, bilgilerin akılda kalıcılığının artması, ders başarılarının artması, öğrencilerin bilinç düzeyinin artması gibi pek çok faydasından bahsedilirken; güncel bilgilere erişimde doğru kaynaktan doğru bilgiye ulaşımın zor olması, bu bilgilerin sınıfta kullanılması zaman kaybına ve konunun dağılmasına yol açması, öğrencilerin sıkılması, öğrencilerde önyargının oluşması ve öğrencileri hazıra alıştırması gibi olumsuz yönlerine de değinilmiştir.
In this study, the opinions of teachers candidates regarding the teaching of current subjects of biology supported by the media were tried to be determined. For this purpose, the research methods of quality research have been used. The study group consists of 53 final class students who participate in the course of Biology Special Subjects in Science and Science Teaching. In the course of Biology Special Subjects, the study group has been taught on current biology subjects supported by the media for 10 weeks. At the end of the course, a form consisting of 7 open-end questions was distributed to the teacher candidates and the answers that the teacher candidates gave were analyzed with the content analysis technique. As a result of the analysis of the data, the channels that the teachers candidates use in access to information have been ranked in the form of Instagram, Twitter, Google search engine, Facebook, YouTube, scientific journals, news programs, books, encyclopedias, documentaries and newspapers. They also stated that the current information they obtain from these communication channels could be more connected to their daily lives. The use of current information in the classroom, the fun passage of the classes, the increase in interest in the classroom, the realization of fast learning, the increase in the durability of information in mind, the increase in the success of the classroom, the increase in the level of consciousness of students; the difficultness of the communication of the correct source to the correct information in access to the current information, the use of this information in the classroom, the loss of time and the dissolution of the subject, the annoyance of students, the formation of prejudice in students and the practice of the students.
