Abstract:

As the purpose of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) is to come to us first as the defense of the Western world itself as a result of Soviet Russia’s spread policies. After the Soviet Party established the Warsaw Pact, it became one of the world’s greatest actors in the Cold War. With the dissolution of the Soviets and therefore of communism, NATO has begun to direct political and military events in the modern world, which has been separated from being an actor of the Cold War. Specifically after the Gulf Crisis, taking the main role in the intervention in Iraq, after which it has now become a world-owned organization using both its political and military power in preventing persecution, resolving disputes and solving inter-social events. In the study; after NATO failed to resolve the problem with political initiatives, military intervention in the Serbian-Bosnia war, which came to the point of genocide, the document, the method of document analysis, the archive documents and the political actors of the time were evaluated in the point of view. It has also been revealed by the newspapers of the time that Turkey, a member of the NATO, was attending before, during and after this intervention.
