Abstract:

In terms of the results of the world’s last half-century history, one of the greatest wars that has led to harsh destruction is the Syrian war. As a result of this war, a country was almost completely destroyed, but millions of people lost their lives. Many people have to continue their lives in other countries. Turkey is the country most affected by this war after Syria. According to official figures, by 2019, the number of registered Syrians in our country has reached 3.7 million. In addition, some sources are not registered, and this number is claimed to have exceeded 5 million. With this balance-down immigration movement, some problems are faced in our country, and the most important of them is the subject of Turkish education in order to facilitate the adaptation of Syrian refugees to the social life in our country. For this purpose, it is known that state-backed Interim Education Centers, Public Education Centers and TOMERs open Turkish courses and these courses are carried out under the supervision of Turkish teachers. In the study, Turkish teachers working in the Interim Education Centers tried to evaluate their views on Turkish teaching to Syrian students. The purpose of the study is to make conclusions on the subject by moving from the views of Turkish teachers to the Syrian students by determining the problems encountered while teaching Turkish and the systemic negative and deficiencies. In this study, the interview method was used and the structured interview form was implemented, which was created by taking the expert opinions of the six questions to the participants during the interview. The examples of the research are made up of 14 Turkish teachers who work in the Interim Education Centers that serve the research in different regions. The data obtained from the participants was evaluated by the content analysis method. At the end of the study, Turkish teachers have expressed the various difficulties they experience in teaching Turkish to Syrian students, they have done resource and system assessments, they have tried to identify various negative and deficiencies. The research has shown a variety of recommendations for Turkish teaching to Syrian students.
