Birey yaşamda karar alırken önemli rol oynayan etkenlerden biri motivasyondur. Motivasyon kişinin bir durum veya bir olaya yoğunlaşmasını, harekete geçmesini sağlayan içsel ve dışsal bir takım unsurlardan oluşan bir kavramdır. İçsel motivasyon bireyin kendi istek arzu ve heyecanları kaynaklı iken dışsal motivasyon durumla ilgili para, konum gibi bir takım etkenleri barındırır. Motivasyon öğrenme için ön koşul olduğu gibi meslek seçiminde de derin etkilere sahiptir. Öğretmenlik mesleği kişiye yüklediği sorumluluklar açısından oldukça derin motivasyon gerektiren mesleklerdendir. Öğretmen adaylarının meslek ve alan seçimlerin hangi tür motivasyon etkenlerinin rol oynadığı onların mesleklerine olan saygı, bağlılık ve sorumluluk düzeylerini de etkileyecektir. Ayrıca eğitim fakültelerinin de öğretmen adaylarını mesleğe ve alana motive etme konusunda sorumlulukları bulunmaktadır. Bu görüşlerden hareketle çalışmanın amacı, okul öncesi öğretmen adaylarının alan seçimi ile alan eğitimi sürecinde motivasyon kaynaklarının incelenerek elde edilen bulgular ışığında öneriler sunmaktır. Bu doğrultuda nitel ve nicel araştırma yöntemleri bir arada kullanılarak konunun derinlemesine incelenmesi hedeflenmiştir. Araştırmanın verileri Meslek ve Alan Seçiminde Motivasyon Ölçeği ile 2016-2017 bahar yarıyılında toplanmıştır. Araştırmanın örneklemini Okul Öncesi Eğitimi Anabilim Dalında öğrenim gören Okul Öncesi Eğitimi Anabilim Dalında öğrenim gören birinci dördüncü sınıfa devam 215 öğretmen adayı oluşturmaktadır. Çalışmanın nitel boyutunda ise gönüllük esas olmak üzere 40 öğretmen adayı ile görüşme gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırmanın sonuçlarına göre, dördüncü sınıf öğrencilerinin içsel alan motivasyonları, birinci sınıf öğrencilerinden daha yüksektir. Ayrıca bulgular, ders dışı mesleki kurs ve eğitimlere katılmayan öğrencilerin dışsal motivasyonlarının katılan öğrencilerden daha yüksek olduğunu göstermektedir. Nitel verilerden elde edilen sonuçlarda ise okul öncesi öğretmen adaylarının bu alanı seçmelerindeki ilk nedenin çocukları sevme olduğu bunu sırasıyla lise eğitimi (meslek lisesi), üniversite sınavında puanların bu bölümü tutması, atamaların kolay olması, çalışma şartlarının iyi olması gibi nedenlerinin takip ettiği görülmüştür.
One of the factors that play an important role in the decision-making of the individual is the motivation. Motivation is a concept consisting of an internal and external set of elements that enable a person to focus on a situation or event to move. Internal motivation is the source of the individual’s own desire and excitement while the external motivation involves a set of factors, such as money, position, related to the situation. Motivation has profound implications in the choice of a profession, as it is a prerequisite for learning. The teaching profession is one of the professions that requires a very deep motivation in terms of the responsibilities it lies on the person. The level of respect, commitment and responsibility to their professions where the type of motivating factors in the career and field choices will also affect. The faculty also has the responsibility to motivate teachers candidates to the profession and the field. The aim of the study by moving from these views is to present suggestions in the light of the findings obtained by the study of the motivation sources in the field education process with the field selection of pre-school teachers candidates. In this direction, the aim is to study the subject in depth by using qualitative and quantitative research methods together. The research data was collected in the 2016-2017 spring semester with the Motivation Scale in Career and Field Selection. The examples of the study are made by 215 teachers candidates who are studying in the Pre-School Education Anabily Division and the first fourth class in the Pre-School Education Anabily Division. The study was conducted by 40 teachers, including volunteers. According to the research results, the inner field motivations of fourth-class students are higher than the first-class students. The findings also show that the external motivations of students who do not participate in non-class professional courses and training are higher than the students who participate. In the results obtained from the qualification data, the first reason in choosing this field is that pre-school teachers candidates love children, according to high school (professional high school), holding this part of the scores in the university exam, being easy to appoint, working conditions are good.
