Abstract:

The Turkish education aims to improve their communication skills. The development of communication skills depends on the work to be carried out on four basic language skills: listening/seeing, speaking, reading and writing. Speaking has an important place at the beginning of these language skills in terms of being both the first-learned narrative skills and the means of feedback. The Turkish Teaching Program, prepared in 2018, has also included some achievements to acquire speaking skills in a healthy way. The aim of this research is to evaluate the 5, 6, 7 and 8 class lessons prepared by the Ministry of Education according to the 2018 Turkish lesson teaching program in terms of speech achievements. The method of document analysis was used. The data analysis technique is used. With the help of previously identified topics, the data in the teaching books was reached. These data are the codes of the research. The data obtained from the lesson books is coded with the help of themes. The research has found that the conversational achievements of books in themselves and between books are often not used regularly. This conclusion suggests that bookmakers use the discourse achievements randomly – without a system’s supervision. It is also determined that some speaking achievements are less frequently present. The fact that the regulations do not go to the way of indicating the subnumber relating to the use of the profits can be considered as the cause of this incompatibility. The results of the study suggested that the behavior of speech is used in a balanced form in the curriculum books, that the results do not differ greatly in the frequency of use and that the relevant regulations are updated in such a way that the results will represent a low limit in terms of the frequency of use in books.
