Bu araştırmanın amacı, dört ve beş yıldızlı otel işletmelerinde çalışanların presenteeism düzeylerini belirlemek ve dört ve beş yıldızlı otel işletmelerinde çalışanların presenteeism düzeylerinde farklılık olup olmadığını tespit etmektir. Bu amaç doğrultusunda, araştırmanın örneklemini oluşturan İzmir ili merkez ilçelerinde bulunan dört ve beş yıldızlı otel işletmelerinde çalışan 426 kişiye anket uygulanmıştır. Yapılan analiz sonuçlarına göre, otel işletmelerinde çalışanların presenteeism düzeyleri ile dört ve beş yıldızlı otel işletmesinde çalışma durumu arasında anlamlı farklılık tespit edilmiştir. Dört yıldızlı otel işletmelerinde çalışanların presenteeism düzeyleri beş yıldızlı otel işletmelerinde çalışanlara göre daha yüksektir. Bununla birlikte dört ve beş yıldızlı otel işletmelerinde çalışanların çoğunluğunun presenteeism yaşadığı, presenteeisme neden olan faktörlerin sadece sağlıkla ilgili olmadığı, presenteeism düzeyinin artmasında ve presenteeism yaşanmasında bireysel, örgütsel ve çevresel faktörlerinde etkili olduğu belirlenmiştir.
The aim of this research was to determine the presenteeism levels of the workers in four and five star hotels, and identify whether there is a difference in the presenteeism levels of the workers in four and five star hotels. In line with this purpose, a survey was conducted on 426 people in four and five star hotel businesses in the central districts of İzmir city, which formed the sample of the research. According to the results of the analyses, a statistically significant difference was located between presenteeism levels of the hotel workers and the employment status in four and five star hotels. The presenteeism levels of the workers in the four star hotels were higher compared to the workers in the five star hotels.
