Türkler yerleştikleri coğrafyalarda farklı dönemlerde çok sayıda geleneksel hamam inşa etmişlerdir. Geçmişi antik döneme dayanan hamamlar farklı medeniyetlerde yıkanma, sağlık, eğlence, spor gibi bir çok amaca hizmet veren mekanlardan oluşurken, Türk hamamları ana fonksiyonu yıkanma olan mekanlardan oluşmaktadır. Geleneksel Türk hamamları mahremiye-tin ön planda olduğu, içe dönük yapılardır. Bu nedenle bu yapılar sağır ve yüksek duvarlara sahiptir. Geleneksel Türk hamamlarında aydınlatma doğal ve yapay olmak üzere ikiye ayrıl-maktadır. Doğal aydınlatma duvarlardan değil tamamen üst örtüden sağlanmaktadır. Taş, tuğ-la gibi doğal malzemelerden oluşan üst örtü kubbe ve tonoz formundan oluşmaktadır. Giriş kısmında yer alan soyunmalık ve hamamın ısınmasını sağlayan külhan bölümleri ise çoğun-lukla ahşap kırma ya da beşik çatı ile örtülüdür. Bu örtülerde yer alan ışıklıklar ya da fener ile doğal aydınlatma sağlanmaktadır. Yapay aydınlatmada ise çırağman, çırabba, kandil pencerele-ri gibi elemanlardan faydalanılmaktadır. Bu çalışmada geleneksel Türk hamamlarında görülen aydınlatma yöntemleri incelenmiş, günümüzde uygulanan hamam restorasyonlarındaki aydın-latma elemanları koruma kapsamında incelenmiştir.
Turks have built many traditional hammas in different periods in their geographical settlements. The past is based on the ancient times and is made up of places that serve many purposes in different civilizations, such as swimming, health, entertainment, sports, while the Turkish swimming are made up of places that have the main function of swimming. Traditional Turkish hammas are internal structures where private-tin is in the forefront. This is why these structures are dirty and have high walls. In traditional Turkish hammas, lighting is divided into two parts: natural and artificial. Natural lighting is provided not from the walls, but from the top cover. The upper cover, consisting of natural materials such as stone, is made up of the form of cubes and tonuses. The clothes in the entrance and the shell parts that allow the heating of the shell are mostly covered with wooden breaks or five roofs. This light is provided with natural lighting or lighting. In the artificial lighting, it is used by elements such as throwing, throwing, candle window-ri. In this study, the lighting methods seen in traditional Turkish hammas have been studied, and the lighting elements in the hammas restorations that are applied today have been studied in the framework of protection.
