Yunus Emre’nin hayatı ile ilgili kesin bilgiler bulunmamaktadır. Tarihî kaynakların verdiği bilgiler eksik ve yetersizdir. Hayatı menkıbeler yoluyla destanlaştırılmıştır. Bu durum yaşadığı dönemden günümüze gelinceye kadar geçen uzun zaman sürecinde onunla ilgili pek çok bilginin değişikliğe uğramasına sebep olmuştur. Yunus Emre’nin hayatı hakkında en geniş bilgi menkıbelerde bulunmaktadır. Ancak bu bilgiler halk rivayetlerine dayandığından gerçek hayat hikâyesini vermekten uzaktır. Yunus, kültür dünyamızda sadece sufi kimliği ile tesir eden bir şahsiyet değildir. O yalnızca Tasavvuf/Tekke edebiyatını değil bütün Türk edebiyatını derinden etkilemiş şahsiyetlerden biridir. Yunus Emre’nin doğduğu çağda üst üste gelen Moğol akınları Anadolu’yu harap etmiş; halk bezgin, umutsuz ve bitkin bir hale düşmüştür. Vergilerin ağırlaşması hayatı çekilmez bir hale koymuş, kıtlık ve kuraklık yaşamı hayli zorlaştırmıştır. Haçlı seferleri ve Moğol istilasından muzdarip insanlar, ruhlarını sükûnete erdirmede tekke ve şeyhlere başvurmuşlardır. Mevlâna ve Yunus gibi kişiler müslümanların bu umutsuz günlerinde ortaya çıkmıştır. Bu çalışmamızda Yunus Emre’nin dizelerinden yola çıkılarak İslam’ın beş şartı incelenmiştir.

The most information about Yunus Emre is found in the tales. However, because it based on public narration such information is far from the true life story about Yunus Emre. Yunus is not just a person acting with Sufi identity in our cultural world. He is one of the people that has deeply influenced not only the Sufi/ Dervish literature but also the all Turkish literature. In the era that Yunus was born, overlapping Mongol invasions ruined Anatolia and because of this people were weary, exhausted and desperate. Exacerbation of taxesmade life unbearable and beside this, famine and drought made life much more difficult. People, who suffer from the Crusades and the Mongol invasions, consulted dervish and sheikhs to relieve their souls. People like Mevlana and Yunus Emre appeared these desperate days of Muslims. In this study, the five pillars of Islam have been examined byutilizing the verse of Yunus Emre.
