Türk-Rus diplomatik ilişkileri resmi olarak 15. yüzyılda başlamış; 18.-19. yüzyıllar arasında iki devlet savaş ve antlaşmalarda karşı karşıya gelmiştir. 20. yüzyılın en önemli olayı olarak tarihe geçen Birinci Dünya Savaşı sırasında, Türk-Rus ilişkileri devam ederken, Rusya’daki çarlık rejiminin yıkılmasına neden olan 1917 Ekim Devrimi ile Türk-Rus ilişkileri yeni bir yön kazanmıştır. 1920’de, Ankara’da ilk Rus elçiliği açılmış; daha sonra, Türkiye Cumhuriyeti Devleti’nin başkentinde Sovyet Rusya’ya çeşitli nedenlerle yeni binalar tahsis edilmiştir. Burada, Türk milli mücadelesini kapsayan süreçte Türk-Rus diplomatik ilişkilerine ve Ankara’daki Sovyet Rusya elçilik binalarına değinilmektedir.
Turkish-Russian diplomatic relations officially began in the 15th century; between the 18th and 19th centuries, two states met in wars and treaties. During the First World War, which became the most important event of the 20th century, the Turkish-Russian relations continued, with the October Revolution of 1917, which led to the collapse of the Tsarist regime in Russia, the Turkish-Russian relations gained a new direction. In 1920, the first Russian embassy in Ankara was opened; later, new buildings were assigned to the Soviet Russia for various reasons in the capital of the Republic of Turkey State. Here, the process covering the Turkish national struggle is referred to the Turkish-Russian diplomatic relations and the Soviet-Russian embassy buildings in Ankara.
Turkish-Russian diplomatic relations officially began in the 15th century, and the two countries encountered in the wars and the treaties between the 18th-19th centuries. While the Turkish-Russian relations were going on in the First World War, this relation gained a new direction with the 1917 October Revolution that caused the Russian tsarist regime collapsed. In 1920, the first Russian embassy building was opened in Ankara; then, because of various reasons, Soviet Russia were allocated the new buildings in the capital of the Republic of Turkey. In this study, Turkish-Russian political relations and the Soviet Russian embassy buildings in Ankara in the period of the Turkish national struggle will be evaluated.
