Yaşadığımız dünyada uzak ve yakın çevrede meydana gelen bazı olaylar insanların günlük yaşamını etkileyebilmektedir. Bireyler bu gelişmelerden olumsuz etkilenmemek veya bu etkiyi azaltmak adına, yaşanan gelişmeleri anında takip etme ihtiyacı duymaktadırlar. Özellikle kitleleri yönetenlerin (siyasilerin) almış oldukları kararlar günlük yaşamı etkileyebilmektedir. Siyasiler bazı kararları veya gelişmeleri artık internet ortamında çeşitli platformda paylaşarak insanları bilgilendirmektedirler. Bilhassa gençler arasında her geçen gün kullanımı yaygınlaşan internet, siyasal bilgilenme sürecinde de giderek ön plana çıkmaya başlamıştır. Zaman ve mekân sınırlaması olmaksızın, insanlara sınırsız bilgiye ulaşma imkânı sağlayan internet, aynı zamanda geniş bir siyasi bilgilenmeyi de mümkün kılmaktadır. Ayrıca internet her türlü enformasyona ulaşmayı kolaylaştırmıştır. İnsanlar internet sayesinde gündeme ilişkin siyasi olayları anlık olarak takip edebilmektedir. Bu çalışma üniversite öğrencileri bağlamında, gençlerin siyasal bilgilenmesinde internetin rolü ve etkinliğini ortaya koymak amacıyla yapılmıştır. Saha araştırması yönteminin kullanıldığı bu çalışmada veriler, 540 katılımcıdan yüz yüze anket tekniğiyle elde edilmiştir. Araştırma sonuçlarına göre; katılımcılar, siyasal bilgilenmede internete düşük düzeyde güvenmektedir. Kadınların siyasal bilgilenmede internete güven düzeyi, erkeklere göre daha yüksektir. Üniversite öğrencilerinin günlük internet kullanım süreleri arttıkça siyasal bilgilenmede internete olan güven düzeyi de artmaktadır. Katılımcıların siyasal bilgilenmede iletişim araç ve yöntemleri arasında en fazla internete önem verdikleri dikkat çekmektedir. Yine katılımcılar internet üzerinde en fazla siyasi içerikli konular ve eğitim içerikli konularla ilgilenmektedir.
Some of the events that occur in the far and close surroundings in the world we live can affect the daily life of people. Individuals need to follow the developments immediately in order to not be affected negatively by these developments or to reduce these effects. The decision which the people (the politicians) make can affect their daily lives. Politicians are now informing people about some decisions or developments by sharing them on various platforms on the Internet. In particular, the internet, which is increasingly used everyday among young people, has also started to become the forefront in the process of political information. The internet, which allows people to access unlimited information without time and space restrictions, also enables broad political information. The Internet has also made it easy to access all kinds of information. Through the Internet, people can follow the political events of the agenda instantly. This study was conducted in the context of university students, with the aim of demonstrating the role and effectiveness of the internet in the political awareness of young people. In this study using the field research method, the data was obtained from 540 participants through the face-to-face survey technique. According to the research, participants have a low level of trust in political information on the Internet. The level of confidence in women in political information on the internet is higher than the level of confidence in men. The increased periods of daily internet use of university students, the level of confidence in political information on the internet also increases. Participants note that political information is the most important of the means and methods of communication on the Internet. Again, the participants are most interested in the topics of political content and the topics of educational content on the internet.
Some events in the world we live in, at distant and near environment, can affect the daily lives of people. In order not to be affected negatively by these developments, or to reduce this effect,individuals need to follow ongoing developments. Especially the decisions of the rulers of the masses (politics) can affect daily life. Politicians are now informing people about some decisions or developments by sharing them on various platforms in the internet environment.Especially among young people, the internet, which is becoming more and more popular every day, is gradually becoming the foreground in the political information process.The internet, which allows people to reach unlimited knowledge without the limitation of time and space, also enables a wide range of political information. In addition, the internet has made it easier to access all kinds of information.People can follow the political events on the agenda instantly thanks to the internet. This study was conducted in order to reveal the role and effectiveness of the internet in the political information of young people in the context of university students. In this study, the field survey method was used and the results were obtained by face-to-face survey technique from 540 participants.According to the results of the research; Participants rely on internet at low level for getting information for political. The level of women's political awareness is higher than that of men. As the daily internet usage time of the university students increases, the level of confidence in the internet is also increasing.It is noteworthy that the participants have the most importance on internet for interpreting communication tools and methods.Participants are also interested in topics with the highest political content and educational content on the internet.
