So many results that aren't mine?

Sosyal Bilgiler Öğretmen Adaylarının Coğrafya Öğretimine İlişkin Algıları

Bu araştırma sosyal bilgiler öğretmen adaylarının üniversite eğitimi sırasında aldıkları coğrafya derslerinin işleniş tarzına yönelik algılarını ortaya çıkarabilmek amacıyla yapılmıştır. Araştırmaya büyük bir devlet üniversitesinin Eğitim Fakültesi Sosyal Bilgiler Öğretmenliği Anabilim Dalında öğrenim gören 134 öğretmen adayı katılmıştır. Olgubilim desende tasarlanan araştırmada nitel araştırma teknikleri kullanılmıştır. Araştırma verileri, yarı-yapılandırılmış görüşme yoluyla elde edilmiştir. Katılımcılardan elde edilen veriler, betimsel analiz yoluyla değerlendirilmiştir. Katılıcıların ifadelerinden doğrudan yapılan alıntılarla tartışılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda ortaya çıkan bulgulara göre; öğretim kavramına ilişkin dört farklı tema, coğrafya dersinin nasıl öğretilmesi gerektiğine ilişkin dört farklı tema ve öğrenim gördükleri anabilim dalında halen coğrafya dersinin nasıl öğretildiğine ilişkin iki farklı tema belirlenmiştir.

Perceptions Of Preservice Social Studies Teachers On Teaching Geography

Abstract:

This study was conducted to bring out the perspectives of prospective social studies teachers toward teaching styles of geography courses, which they took during their undergraduate period. The study was conducted with 134 preservice social studies teachers at a large state university’s Faculty of Education. Qualitative research techniques were used in the study designed by means of phenomenological pattern. Data of the study were picked up through semi-structured interview technique. Data which were collected from interviewees were analyzed by using qualitative descriptive analysis. The data were discussed aligned with quotations from the reports of the participants. According to research findings; four types of themes pertaining to teaching concept, four kinds of themes pertaining to how to teach geography, two sorts of themes pertaining to how geography courses were taught to preservice social studies teachers during their undergraduate education. Themes related to the concept of teaching in general are (1) the process of transmitting the predetermined knowledge to students in schools within a program; (2) the communication of knowledge, attitudes and skills to students by the teacher; (3) transferring the scientific knowledge to people by using visual techniques and materials; and (4) transferring the information to i
