Abstract:

Phenomenological model has been used in the research made to determine the views of Turkish Language and Literature teacher candidates about the nature of the course, Special Teaching Methods, in the pedagogical formation education program. The research has been carried on the students of Turkish Language and Literature Department who are taking the pedagogical formation education in a state university and faculty members at the same university who are giving the course of Special Teaching Methods to the students of Turkish Language and Literature. Before collecting data, a connection is established with the faculty members of the related course, sample group is identified in accordance with the information given by them; after that, data of the research is collected via standardized open-ended questionnaire and semi-structured interview form. Firstly, the data acquired from the research is subjected to descriptive analysis; the answers are categorized in two different ways according to questions in the interview form. After that, data under these two categories is subjected to content analysis and separated to code and themes. During all this process, precautions maintaining validity and reliability are taken. In consequence of the research, it is confirmed that views of Turkish Language and Literature students about the course of Special Teaching Methods are in a positive way and they benefit from this course especially in the point of technique and method knowledge very much. Besides, it is seen that important majority of the students state they will use knowledge gained from Special Teaching Methods course in their career.
