The education systems of many countries aim to reinforce mother language acquisition in individuals through school education from early ages since as a conceptual learning system, language serves us to identify and know outer world through concepts. From this aspect, language acquisition is a natural process beginning with family and becomes one of the primary activity fields in raising individuals through school education. Education systems include courses like “rhetoric and writing, composition, creative writing”, which aim at speaking and writing competences that can be described as active language skills, together with mother language courses in their curriculum in order to promote and develop the acquisition of a mother language used as the official language. In this study, intensifying mother language competence means the skills of learners to reach an elaborated language sense in their mother language, have the flexibility in a way to play with lingual structures suitable with aimed deeds, in other words to be able to create options within the scope of expression forms that present content and to perform the most suitable ones for communicative situation. Along with other activities, translation practices may have a role in acquiring these skills. From this point of view, the present study aims to discuss the possible effects of interlingual and intralingual transfer activities on the development of mother language competence.
