Abstract:

As in the world, school leaves the main problems of the last few years. Leaving the education system without receiving a document is defined as leaving the school. Human capital is an important factor in the development of countries and requires mature, qualified people. For this purpose, the high school has taken over an important mission. In this study on school abandonment due to failure in vocational high schools, the aim is to investigate the perceptions of managers and teachers who work in vocational high schools about school abandonment due to failure. However, it has been studied whether the concepts that influenced the school leakage caused by failure and the sample group involved in the research differed according to the demographic characteristics. The universe of research is the teachers who work in the professional high schools located in the Maltepe district of Istanbul in the 2015-2016 educational year. The scale was applied to 321 people identified by simple random sampling within this universe. In this study, a relational scan model was used. In order to collect data in the research, the "Demographic Information Form" was used by the researcher for the scale of the research and the list of concepts that are effective on the school leaves caused by failure. The data obtained on the computer was solved in the SPSS program, manicure tested at a minimum level of p<,05. Frequency, standard deviation, average values taken, factor analysis applied, independent group t test, one-way variance analysis (ANOVA), Tukey test made. Pearson’s correlation analysis has been used to determine the relationships between the subdimensions of the scale. The judgments achieved by this study can be classified as follows: the most important concept that is considered to have an impact on the school leaving caused by failure is the family and it is followed by the economic situation and the school environment. The sample group’s professional advancement has an influence on the perception of behavioral dimensions and, in terms of duty variation, the school managers have achieved the subject of school leaving more positively in terms of success.
