Be¬den folk¬lo¬ru, be¬den¬sel haller/duruşlar/eylemlerle bun¬la¬rın sim¬ge¬sel an¬lam¬la¬rını araş¬tıran ala¬nın adı¬dır. Be¬den¬le il¬gi¬li çe¬şit¬li ko¬nu¬lar¬da ya¬pıl¬mış bir di¬zi folk¬lor ça¬lış¬ma¬sıy¬la be¬den folk-lo¬ru (body¬lo¬re) adı altında folk¬lo¬run bir alt da¬lı olarak çalışma alanı oluşmuştur. Kültür bilimi açısından bakıldığında, kültür üreten be¬denin kimi durumlarda kül¬tü¬rü be¬densel¬leş-tir¬mek¬te¬ olduğunu görmek mümkündür. Yani beden, kültürel bir metin olarak okumaya müsait bir nesnedir. Bu kabulden yola çıkarak bildirimizde, kutsal ziyaret kavramının ziyaret eden ve ziyaret edilen unsurlarına bağlı olarak ortaya çıkan pratikler, kutsal-beden ilişkisi açısından değerlendirilecektir. Bu çalışmada ziyaret fenomeni çalışmaları için yeni olan bir yaklaşım kullanılmış olup sonuçta beden folkloru kavramının ziyaret fenomenine uygulanabilirliği görülmüştür.
