Abstract:

It is known that the first step of entering a learning process in every sense is listening. As a language skill, listening constitutes the foundation of understanding, perception and perception activities in language learning and teaching. In the teaching process through listening skills, texts are the main sources of the process. The audio recordings and CDs created for the Listening Texts in the lesson books included in the teaching sets used in the teaching of Turkish as a foreign language are considered as an indispensable part of the related sets. Also, the texts that make up the content of these audio records are either presented to the student as an attachment to the book or as a separate library. The Seven Climate Turkish Teaching Set (YITÖS) prepared by the Yunus Emre Institute, which forms the examples of the study, and the Turkish Teaching Set (YITÖS) prepared by the Istanbul University, the listening texts of each level included in the Istanbul Foreigners Teaching Set (YITÖS) are studied in the context of the word numbers. This examination and evaluation was done on the basis of the unit and level and the results arising were assessed by the institutions in the binding advice on the teaching period in terms of the course teaching hours, the teaching period dedicated to listening skills and the word teaching will affect. The data arising from the assessment of the relevant listening texts have been linked to meaningful results and in the recommendations on the word numbers of the listening texts to be used in the teaching of Turkish as a foreign language. It is noted that the study of reading texts in the field is rarely found on the number of words, while the study of listening texts is not done.
