Karl Polanyi’nin kapitalizmin krizlerine ilişkin görüşleri kendine özgü ve özel bir yere sahiptir. O’na göre, emek-toprak-paranın metalaştırılması ile piyasaların kendi başına kontrolsüzce gelişmesi kapitalist krizlerin kaynağını oluşturmaktadır. Polanyi piyasaya karşı değildir. O’na göre piyasaların kendi başına kontrolsüzce gelişmesi asıl sorundur. Buna yol açan en büyük etken ise demokrasilerin doğru çalışmamasıdır. İnsan ihtiyaçlarını karşılamak için topluma hizmet eden ve toplumun içine gömülü olan piyasa doğru piyasadır. Ayrıca devlet önemli fonksiyonları olan bir mekanizmadır. Polanyi ne tanıdık bir sosyalist ne de bilinen bir demokrattır. Polanyi’ye göre ekonomi ve demokrasi aslında tek bir amaca hizmet etmektedir. Bu amaç ise insanların, eşit ve özgür bir şekilde gelişimlerine devam etmesidir. Polanyi’nin penceresinden, son yıllarda yaşanan krizler, piyasa dinamiklerinin işleyişi ve dünya kaynaklarının yıpranması göz önüne alındığında, pek çok eleştirisinin tutarlı olduğu söylenebilir. Bu eleştirilerin tutarlı olup olmamasından daha önemlisi bugün için ilham verici yönler taşımasıdır. Çalışmanın amacı Polanyi’nin hayali metalaşma tespiti ve sonuçlarının konusundaki haklılığını günümüzde sosyal, finansal ve ekolojik yıkımlarını göstererek analiz etmektir.
The views of Karl Polanyi on the crises of capitalism have a special place. According to Polanyi, the commodification of labor-land-money and the uncontrolled development of markets on its own constitutes the source of capitalist crises. Polanyi is not against the market. According to him, the uncontrolled development of the market itself is the main problem. The biggest factor that leads to this is that democracies do not work properly. The market that serves society to meet human needs and that is embedded in society is the right market. In addition, the state is a mechanism with important functions. Polanyi is neither a familiar socialist nor a known democrat. According to Polanyi, economy and democracy actually serve one purpose. This goal is that people continue to develop in an equal and free way. From Polanyi’s perspective, considering the recent crises, the functioning of the market dynamics and the deterioration of world resources, many criticisms are still consistent. More important than whether or not these criticisms are consistent is that they are inspiring today. The aim of the study is to analyze Polanyi's identification of fictitious commodification and its results by showing social, financial and ecological destructions today.
