The aim of this research is to determine conflict management styles that are used by school directors, according to the perception of teachers and to consider how much stress is occurred on teachers. This research is based on 214 teachers who are working in 15 different schools in Gebze, Kocaeli during the 2005-2006 academic year. Data collecting process has two different parts: First part is based on personal knowledge about the teachers. Second part consists “Rahim Organizationel Conflict Inventory (ROC-II)” Survey. ROC-II is also tried to consider the stress level of the teachers caused by the conflict management styles. Some of the results are as follows: (1) It is observed that teachers are mostly using integration style and then in sequence, compromise, compensation, and at least domination style when there is a conflict between the school directors and them. (2) When the stress level of teachers, caused by the conflict management styles of school directors, is expanded in scope; it is observed that the most stress causing style is compensation and the least one is integration style. (3) It is founded that there is a meaningful correlation between the conflict management styles, used by the school directors and the stress level of the teachers caused by these styles.
