Art education has an important role in preschool years. Art education includes of activities which support to creativities and developments of children in period of preschool. It is thought that, as the human being changes his perceptions on the external world by the help of art education; he/she becomes more creative, more self- confident, productive and willing to have positive effect upon his social environment. In preschool period, art education relate to self-awareness, social skills- cultural awareness, communication skills which include language, music, movement, drama, art, perceptual motor skills, analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, creative and aesthetic awareness. The aim of this study is to explain values which should be developed by preschool art education. The data in the study were obtained by literature searching within the framework of survey model. As a result of the study, it was determined that the art education in preschool is an educational discipline indispensable in terms of individual, and necessary to lifelong process. It was suggested that the art education in preschool should be given with careful attention.
