1929 Ekonomik Buhranı ile buhrandan sonra yaşananbüyük kriz olarak nitelendirilen 2008 Küresel Krizi ve 1997 yılında Güneydoğu Asya’da başlayan kriz arasında; gerek çıkış nedenleri, gerekse de gelişimi açısından benzerlikler ve farklılıklar olduğuna dair literatürde birçok tartışma yer almıştır. Devletlerarası ilişkilerin daha çok siyaset ve savunma merkezli olduğu ve ekonominin devletlerin dış politika planlamasında ikincil konumda bulunduğu bir ortamda baş gösteren 1929 Büyük Buhranı, alınan önlemlerin daha çok ulusal karakterli olması ve kamu kesiminin para ve maliye politikası tedbirlerine başvuracak gücünün ve planlamasının eksikliği nedeniyle daha uzun sürmüş; buna rağmen 1997 Asya krizi ve günümüz ekonomik krizi, bölgesel ve uluslararası kurumların varlığı ve ülkelerin krize karşı geliştirdiği benzer para ve maliye politikası tedbirleri ile görece olarak daha kısa sürede atlatılmıştır. Makalede kısaca geçmişte yaşanan üç büyük krizin anatomisi ele alınarak kriz süresince uygulanan politikalar ve krizden çıkışta sağladığı başarı ile günümüz ekonomik krizine yönelik bir çıkarım yapılmıştır.
Between the 2008 Global Crisis and the 1997 South-Eastern Asia Crisis, which was described as the Great Crisis, there were many discussions in the literature that there were similarities and differences in terms of development and the reasons for the outcome. The 1929 Great Boulevard, where international relations are more focused on politics and defence and where the economy is in a secondary position in the foreign policy planning of the states, lasted longer because of the more national character of the measures taken and the lack of the power and planning of the public sector to apply to monetary and financial policy measures; however, the 1997 Asian crisis and the current economic crisis, the presence of regional and international institutions and similar monetary and financial policy measures developed by the countries against the crisis, were passed relatively shorter. The article briefly discussed the anatomy of the three major crises in the past, the policies implemented during the crisis and the success that it has achieved in the outcome of the crisis, and a conclusion to the current economic crisis.
