Bu çalışmanın amacı, Türkiye Basketbol Süper Ligi’nde ev sahibi olmanın takımların müsabakaları galibiyetle sonuçlandırmasındaki etkisini Bradley-Terry modeli ile araştırmaktır. Bradley-Terry modeli, eşleştirilmiş takımların tüm ikili karşılaştırmalarını analiz eden bir olasılık modelidir ve herhangi bir spor müsabakasında takımların kazanma olasılıklarını hesaplar. Bu modelin özelliği, eşitlik durumunun söz konusu olmadığı durumlarda kullanılmasıdır. Son yıllarda, spor müsabakasında özellikle ev sahibi takımın deplasman takıma avantajını hesaplamak amacıyla sık kullanılmaktadır. Bu çalışmada, Türkiye Basketbol Süper Ligi’nde 1991-2016 yılları arasında toplam 25 normal sezon etkinliklerinde Beşiktaş Jimnastik Kulübü’nü, Anadolu Efes, Fenerbahçe, Galatasaray, Türk Telekom ve Karşıyaka Spor Kulüplerini temsil eden erkek basketbol takımları arasında oynanan müsabakaların sonuçları incelenmiştir. Araştırma verileri Türkiye Basketbol Ligi (TBL) resmi internet sitesinden elde edilmiştir. Veriler SAS 9.4 programında Bradley-Terry modelinin yanı sıra frekans ve yüzde değerleri hesaplanarak da yorumlanmıştır. 6 takım arasında oynanan toplam 750 maçta,fazla kazanma sayısına sahip olan takım Anadolu Efes’tir. Diğer taraftan, ev sahibi durumunda oynanan tüm maçlarda kazanma sayıları bakımından Anadolu Efesyüksek yüzdeye (%82) ve Türk Telekomdüşük yüzdeye (%50) sahip olan takımdır. Bu çalışmada, takımların kazanma olasılıklarının tüm müsabaka sonuçları üzerinden hesaplanmasının yanısıra, ev sahibi olma avantajı dikkate alınarak da yorumlar yapılmıştır. Çalışmanın sonucunda, TBL’de ev sahibi olmanın takımın basketbol müsabakasını galibiyetle sonuçlandırmasında önemli bir etkisi olduğu belirlenmiştir. TBL’de ev sahibi takımın kazanma olasılığı Bradley-Terry modeline göre %63 olarak bulunmuştur.
The aim of this study is to explore the impact of being the host of the Turkish Basketball Super League in the end of the matches by the team with the Bradley-Terry model. The Bradley-Terry model is a probability model that analyzes all binary comparisons of matched teams and calculates the chances of winning teams in any sports competition. The feature of this model is that it is used in cases where the status of equality is not concerned. In recent years, it is often used in sports competitions, especially in order to calculate the transfer advantage of the host team to the team. In this study, a total of 25 regular season events in the Turkish Basketball Super League between 1991 and 2016 examined the results of competitions played between the male basketball teams representing the Beşiktaş Gymnastic Club, Anadolu Efes, Fenerbahçe, Galatasaray, Turk Telekom and Karşıyaka Sports Clubs. The research data has been obtained from the official website of the Turkish Basketball League (TBL). The data is interpreted in SAS 9.4 by calculating the Bradley-Terry model as well as the frequency and percentage values. In a total of 750 matches played between 6 teams, the team with a lot of victories is Anadolu Efes. On the other hand, in the case of the host, the team has an Anadolu Efesyüksek per cent (82) and Turk Telekomdük per cent (50) in terms of the number of wins in all matches played. In this study, in addition to calculating the chances of the teams to win through all the results of the competition, comments were made taking into account the advantage of being a host. The study found that being the host at TBL has a significant impact on the team’s basketball match with victory. The chances of the host team to win at TBL were 63% compared to Bradley-Terry.
