Günümüzde insanlar basılı materyallerden ziyade cep telefonu, tablet, bilgisayar gibi teknolojik araçları yoğun bir şekilde kullanmaktadır. Bu araçlarla etkileşim içerisinde olduklarından istemli ya da istemsiz biçimde ekrana yönelik okuryazarlık becerisi edinmektedirler. Bireyler ekranın avantajlarının ne kadar farkındadır, bu avantajlarından yararlanabiliyorlar mı, dezavantajlarını ne kadar aza indergeyebiliyorlar ya da demografik özellikleri ekran okuma düzeylerini etkiliyor mu? Günümüzde bu tür sorular henüz netlik kazanamamıştır. Bu doğrultuda araştırmada öğretmen adaylarının ekran okuma öz yeterlik algılarının dağılımlarını ve algılarını cinsiyet, sınıf seviyesi, okuma materyali tercihi, ekran okuma aracı, yazı tipi ve günlük internet kullanım süresine göre incelemek amaçlanmıştır. Araştırmanın örneklemini Gazi Üniversitesi’nde Sınıf ve Matematik Öğretmenliği Bölümlerindeöğrenim gören 320 öğretmen adayı oluşturmaktadır. Veriler 2017-2018 eğitim-öğretim yılı bahar döneminde toplanmıştır. Öğretmen adaylarının ekran okuma öz yeterlik algılarını belirlemek için geliştirilen “Ekran Okuma Yeterlik Algısı Ölçeği” kullanılmıştır. Verilerin analizinde Mann Whitney U ve Kruskal Wallis H-testi kullanılmıştır. Yapılan Mann Whitney U-testi sonucunda öğretmen adaylarının ekran okuma öz yeterlik algılarında cinsiyete göre anlama boyutunda anlamlı farka rastlanmıştır. Kruskal Wallis H-testi sonucunda ise okuma materyali tercihine göre göz sağlığı, ekran okuma aracı tercihine göre kullanışlılık, anlama ve göz sağlığı boyutlarında, günlük internet kullanım süresine göre kullanışlılık, sayfayı yönetme ve göz sağlığı boyutlarında anlamlı farka rastlanmıştır.
Today, people use technological tools such as mobile phones, tablets, computers more intensely than printed materials. They gain the ability to read to the screen in an intentional or unwanted way because they are in interaction with these tools. How familiar are individuals with the advantages of the screen, can they take advantage of these advantages, can they minimize their disadvantages, or does their demographic characteristics affect the screen reading levels? Today, such questions have not yet become clear. In this direction, the study aims to examine the distribution and perceptions of teacher candidates’ screen reading self-capacity perceptions according to gender, class level, reading material preference, screen reading tool, type of writing and daily internet use time. The examples of the study are made up of 320 teachers candidates who have studied in the Class and Mathematics Teaching Departments at the University of Gazi. The data was collected in the spring period of the 2017-2018 educational year. The "Screen Reading Qualification Perception Scale" has been developed to determine the screen reading self-capacity perceptions of teachers candidates. In the analysis of the data, Mann Whitney U and Kruskal Wallis H-test were used. The Mann Whitney U test found a significant difference in the size of understanding by gender in the screen reading self-capacity perceptions of the teacher candidates. The result of the Kruskal Wallis H-test, according to the preference of reading material, the eye health, the screen reading tool, according to the preference, the usefulness, understanding and eye health sizes, the usefulness, the management of the page and the eye health sizes, according to the daily time of use of the internet, have found a significant difference.
