Abstract:

Suicide is one of the first ten reasons for death worldwide. The factors causing to suicide includes many psychological, sociological and economic considerations. In our study, we examine the influence of unemployment and educational level being independent variables on suicide. In general, the study deals with analyzing the variables published for the entire Turkey from 2002 to 2014 by Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). In the study, the conceptual and theoretical framework was examined by carrying out a literature screening, and then, the influence of unemployment and educational level on suicide was inspected by analyzing the variables from the year 2002 to 2014. Our study shows that there was a relationship between educational level and suicide. And this relationship has varied across gender. In addition, a relationship has been found between suicide and unemployment. But it has varied by educational level
