There are many studies analyzing the factors which effects the femalelabor force participation rate. Among the meconomic growth and unemployment are assumed as being the most important ones. In this study, we investigated the relationships of female labor force participation rate with economic growth and unemployment rate for Turkey. The time period of 1991-2014 is considered depending on the data availability. The long run relationship between the variables stressed above is examined with Johansen cointegration approach. Since the findings of this cointegration approachon’ support the existence of long run relationship, the presence of a possible hidden cointegration relationship between the positive and negative shocks of is alsoinvestigated. To this end, the hidden cointegration test developed by Hatemi-J (2012) is employed and the evidence of this test supported the existence of the cointegration relationship between the positive shocks and negative shocks. As a result, we can conclude that unemployment rate and economic growthshould be considered as being the important factors effecting the female labor force participation rate
