Tarih boyunca toplumsal yapı içerisinde yöneten ve yönetilen sınıfların oluşumu siyasal ve sosyal alanlarda yapılan çalışmalarla ortaya konmaya çalışılmıştır. Ancak devlet yönetiminde erk sahibi olan yönetici sınıfla buna tabi olan halkı anlayabilmek için, devlet içerisindeki iktidar mücadelesini de anlamak gerekiyor. Bu nedenle Selçuklu Devletindeki iktidar mücadelelerini anlamak için dönemin şartları göz önünde tutularak halkın yaşam tarzı ve sosyo-kültürel yapısını da anlamak gerekir. Buradan hareketle taht kavgalarını anlatmadan önce eski Türklerdeki hâkimiyet anlayışını ve Selçuklu Devletinin yönetim anlayışını da etraflıca ele almak gerekiyor. Selçuklu Devleti üzerinden hareketle, eski Türklerde devlet yapısı, devlet anlayışı ve bu yapının oluşumuna etki eden süreçte ortaya çıkan taht kavgalarının sebeplerini de incelemek ayrıca dönemin daha iyi anlaşılmasını sağlayacaktır.
It has been attempted to reveal the formation of the ruling and ruled classes within the social structure by the studies in political and social disciplines all throughout history. Nevertheless, it is essential to understand the power struggle within the state so as to evaluate the nature of the ruling class, which exercises control over the administration of the state, and the common people who are subject to it. Therefore, it is essential to consider the people’s lifestyle and socio-cultural formation in view of the state of affairs during the period in order to capture the power struggles in the Seljuk State. The notion of reign in the Turks and the concept of governance in the Seljuk State should be discussed in details before elucidating the battles over the throne. In view of the Seljuk State, examining the state structure, the concept of governance and the emergence of the throne fights in the formation of this structural organization of the Turks will allow a better understanding of the era.
