Abstract:

In this study, it is aimed to prepare an urban design guide with urban design guides which can lead to positive effects of identity and urban identity, which can be reached by cities, and studies, research and application techniques to be done in the design process. It turned out that working in urban design guides is an important role to play in our country when compared with the examples in the world, protecting the identities and characteristic features of the cities as a result of the creativity that they would especially exert. Urban design guides are effectively used as tools in urban design applications. During the implementation of design decisions, the process is kept under control and is effective in keeping up with changing conditions and needs. In order for the historical cities to be preserved and transferred to future generations in a healthy way, the analysis of the current scientific work, and examples of design guides made in other cities. When urban design studies are examined, it is observed that studies on upper scales are generally performed and urban identities examined with urban design are left behind. In the same directional planning activities, the cities are finishing their identities and duplicating the texture assets in the same way. Together with this concept, urban design guides are also guiding the protection of city identity, the recovery of the lost city identity and the emerging new cities. The necessity of urban design guides, which have an important role in the importance of urban design controls and an effective role in this control mechanism, has been put forward in order to ensure the sustainability of urban identity and the exploitation of available urban spaces.
