The aim of the study is to define the school principals’ motivational approaches in the light of teachers’ opinions and designate if there is a significant difference between the tachears’ opinions regarding the their’ present school principals’ motivational approcahes and the school principal perception in their mind. Population of the study comprises the teachers working at state primary and secondary schools in the center of Kahramanmaras province during 2013-2014 academic year. The sample of the study consisted of 189 teachers who were selected through random sampling method. The scale of "determining the approaches of school principals to motive teachers" was used as a data collection tool. The scale was developed by Basın and Helvacı in 2012. According to the research findings, teachers expect their principals to use higher level of motivational approches. The research indicates that there is no significant difference in terms of demographic variables while there is a significant difference between the teachers’ opinions regarding their present school principals the and school principal perception in their mind.
