Abstract:

The purpose of this research was to determine university instructors rsquo; in class teaching skills based on students rsquo; views This descriptive research was based on screening model The working group of the study was consisted of 800 students studying at various departments of Kilis 7 Aralik University and University of Gaziantep in the academic year of 2009 2010 A questionnaire developed by the authors was used to gather the data Arithmetic mean standard deviation t test and analysis of variance were calculated to analyze the data According to the results the students think that half of the teaching staff were sufficient enough about quot;subject area knowledge quot; quot;the ability to use teaching strategies methods and techniques rdquo; ldquo;the skills of teaching materials rdquo; quot;communication skills quot; quot;classroom management skills quot; and quot;assessment skills quot; It was also found that the students rsquo; views significantly differed according to ldquo;gender rdquo; ldquo;department rdquo; and ldquo;major rdquo; variables
