Abstract:

This work is based on examining and comparing the relationship between Max Ernst's combination of two different disciplines, his use of various materials, techniques and methodology with his own artistic intentions. In this context, under the artistic influence of the period in which the works were produced, the relationship between the painting, collage and printmaking techniques as well as the efforts to keep the intellectual-artistic consistency -necessary for creating the required plastic effect- are examined. As a result of the research, it has been determined that there is a consistent interaction between the artist's synthesis of the social, scientific and artistic conditions of the time and his applications including his multidisciplinary works.
