The learners have a negative perspective for math that is a pure science. Therefore, it can be said that using different methods and techniques in math teaching can increase academic success. On each Napier Stick, there are numbers from 0 to 9 and the multiples of these numbers. Napier sticks can be used for multiplication with the help of addition and these can be used for division with the help of subtraction. In this study, it is aimed to reveal that the effects of Napier sticks on learners’ academic success in multiplication teaching and the learners in this study are in multi-grade classes. It is thought that this study can contribute the literature as revealing a new teaching technique in math teaching. This study is conducted as using a one-sample pre-posttest model. In this study, in order to determine the effects of using Napier sticks in multiplication teaching on learners’ academic success, 11 young learners who are the pupils of 2., 3., and 4. grades in multi-grade classes in a primary school in Mugla are participated. As a result of the study, it is seen that there is a significant difference on the results of pre-test and post-test. In the study, the mean score of learners in pre-test is 36.09, the mean score of post-test is 76.45. As a result of the study, it can be suggested that using Napier sticks in multiplication teaching has a positive effect on learners who are thought in multi-grade classes.
