The purpose of this study is to compare the effect of traditional and computer supported instruction (CSI) methods on student success in teaching of "ecosystem" in 7th grade classes. The study was conducted at Golcuk Primary School in Hilvan, Sanliurfa, in spring semester of 2010 – 2011 academic year. Sixty (26 girls, 34 boys) students studying at 7th grade participated in the study. For the study, two groups were formed; experiment and control group. Pre-test, post-test control group pattern was used in the study. During the experiment process, the lessons with control group were offered in traditional way, while those lessons were offered in computer-supported way in the experiment group. As a means of collecting data in the study, "achievement test" was used to determine the success of students in ecosystem. The tests were applied as "pre test" before the process, and as the "post test" after the process for both experiment and control group. In the analysis of the data, T test was used. The findings of the study show that the students who were taught by computer supported teaching method are more successful than those who were taught by traditional method. The findings also show that the CSI method has a significant effect on the success of students
