This research is to understand the opinions of primary school teachers about teaching fractions. As one of the qualitative research methods, phenomenographic research method was used in the study to reveal the opinions and experiences of teachers about teaching fractions. 6 primary school teachers working in the city centre of Kütahya participated in the research. The data were gathered by the researchers through semi-structured face-to-face interviews. The findings show that the primary school teachers composing the sample of the research have some insufficient and false information about fractions, teaching of fractions and methods and techniques used while teaching fractions. The findings of the research and various suggestions for a more effective teaching of fractions were discussed in details
