Abstract:

The present study was carried out to adapt “Parents-Children Relationship Inventory (PCRI)” which was developed to evaluate the relations of the parents with 5-6-year old children with each other and with their children to Turkish parents. Descriptive survey model was used in the study. The study group was composed of 780 parents who have 5 or 6 year old children attending the preschools or kindergarten classes in primary schools.For the analysis of the data, nine experts were consulted about the concept validity. To test the validity of the original factorial structure of parent-children relationship inventory in the Turkish study group, exploratoryfactor analysis and confirmative factor analysis were done. To find out the reliability of the PCRI , Cronbach Alpha reliability coefficient and Mc Donald reliability coefficient were calculated. It is found that reliability is higher than .70 for each of the factors.At the end of analyzes made; the PCRI which is origin 7 subtitle and 41 items, at satisfied factorial validity and at also identified structure of parent-child relationship
