Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) are voluntary non-profit organizations, which are constructed for the purpose of realizing certain public interests. They act from a non-governmental standpoint in fulfilling their aims. Recently, these organizations gained importance with the emergence of a doubt about the role of state as a public force.As they have a non-bureaucratic structure and adopt a participatory approach as a fundamental principle, the NGOs contribute to a transparent and accountable management through the participation of individuals into the decision making process. In this aspect, with the increasing influence of the NGOs on the society, the state based management gives its place to governance and participation based management. Consequently, citizens may influence the policy-making process from lower levels to upper ones in accordance with their common demands and interests.In this study, the impact of non governmental organisations in policy making process was examined through the case of TUSIAD. Within this context, it was seen that the activities of the institution was concentrate on informing, investigation, report, hold a conference, lobby-persuasion, attention getting, guidance and information flow through periodicals
