Küreselleşme ile ortaya çıkan yeniden yapılanma süreci tüm sektörleri olduğu gibi üniversiteleri de derinden etkilemektedir. Bu bağlamda öğrencilerin akademik beklentileri ve memnuniyetleri kapsamında üniversitelerin rollerinin yeniden değerlendirilmesi gerekmektedir. Üniversite öğrencilerinin akademik yaşamdan beklentileri ve yaşam memnuniyetlerinin belirlenmesinin öğrencilerin beşeri gelişimleri için fiziki ve sosyal imkânların planlanması sürecine katkı sağlayacağı düşünülmektedir. Bu noktadan hareketle bu çalışmada, Balıkesir Üniversitesi’ne bağlı fakültelerde öğrenim gören öğrencilerin akademik hizmetlere ilişkin beklentileri ile Balıkesir Üniversitesi’nde ve Balıkesir İlinde yaşama ilişkin memnuniyet düzeylerini araştırmak hedeflenmiştir. Sirgy, Grezeskowiak ve Rahtz (2007) tarafından geliştirilen Üniversite Yaşam Kalitesi Ölçeğinin kullanıldığı çalışmada 627 örneklem ele alınmıştır. Elde edilen verilere dayalı analiz sonuçlarına göre, lisans ve önlisans öğrencilerinin akademik yönden orta düzeyde memnun oldukları, Balıkesir ilindeki genel yaşam kalitesinin memnuniyet düzeyinin ise düşük olduğu gözlemlenmiştir. Ayrıca çalışmada memnuniyet ve memnuniyetsizlik derecelerinin cinsiyet, tercih sırası, program türü, öğrenim türü gibi değişkenlere göre farklılık gösterdiği gözlemlenmiştir.
The process of reconstruction arising with globalization has a profound impact on the universities as well as all sectors. In this context, the role of the universities should be re-evaluated within the framework of the academic expectations and satisfactions of students. It is believed that the determination of the expectations of university students from academic life and life satisfaction will contribute to the process of planning of physical and social opportunities for student human development. Starting from this point, this study aims to investigate the expectations of students studying at the faculties associated with the University of Fiskesir and the levels of satisfaction in relation to living in the University of Fiskesir and the University of Fiskesir. The study, which was developed by Sirgy, Grezeskowiak and Rahtz (2007) used the University Life Quality Scale, examined 627 samples. According to the results of the analysis based on the data obtained, the bachelor’s and pre-graduate students are academically satisfied at the middle level, while the overall quality of life in the Fishesir province is low. The study also observed that the grades of satisfaction and dissatisfaction vary according to variables such as gender, preference order, program type, learning type.
