Bu araştırmada üniversite öğrencilerinde erken dönem uyumsuz şemaların depresif belirtilere etkisi incelenmiştir. Araştırma 619 üniversite öğrencisiyle yapılmıştır. Öğrencilere Young Şema Ölçeği Kısa Form-3 ve Beck Depresyon Ölçeği uygulanmıştır. Araştırmada yöntem olarak Pearson Momentler Çarpımı Korelasyonu ve Regresyon Analizi kullanılmıştır. Üniversite öğrencilerinde bulunan, Duygusal Yoksunluk, Başarısızlık, Karamsarlık, Sosyal İzolasyon/Güvensizlik, Duyguları Bastırma, Onay Arayıcılık, İçe Geçme/Bağımlılık, Ayrıcalıklılık/Yetersiz Özdenetim, Kendini Feda, Terk Edilme, Cezalandırılma, Kusurluluk, Tehditler Karşısında Dayanıksızlık, Yüksek Standartlar şemalarının öğrencilerdeki depresif belirtilere etkisi incelenmiştir. Araştırmanın sonuçlarına göre duygusal yoksunluk, başarısızlık, karamsarlık, duyguları bastırma, ayrıcalıklılık/yetersiz özdenetim, terk edilme, cezalandırılma, tehditler karşısında dayanıksızlık ve yüksek standartlar şemaları, depresif belirtileri anlamlı bir şekilde yordamaktadır. Söz konusu değişkenler, üniversite öğrencilerindeki depresif belirtilerin %47.2’sini açıklamaktadır.
