Bir bölgenin veya ilin gelişiminde belirli standartlara ulaşmasında tarım, sanayi ve hizmet faaliyetleri lokomotif görevini üstlenmektedir. Belirli ölçekte istihdamın sağlandığı hizmet sektörünün genişlediği iller hızlı gelişim ivmesini yakalamaktadır. Osmaniye 527.724 nüfusuyla günümüzde nüfusun hızla arttığı, sanayi faaliyetlerinin genişlediği, istihdam olanaklarının arttığı hizmet sektörünün genişlediği bir ildir. Osmaniye Kurulduğu tarihten bu yana Avrupa-Asya ve Afrika kıtalarına açılan, Adana, Gaziantep ve Hatay yol kavşağında önemli bir konumda gelişimini sürdürmektedir. Osmaniye ulaşımı açısından çok önemli olan denizyolu ulaşımı, Erzin Limanı projesiyle Doğu Akdeniz’in önemli ulaşım ağına sahip transfer merkezi yapacaktır. Limanı varlığı endüstriyel alanda yeni atılımların da yolunu açacaktır. İlde bulunan OSB’nin bu limana kara ve demiryolu hatları ile bağlanması ulaşım ticaret açısından oldukça önemli gelişmeleri beraberinde getirecektir. Bu durum aynı zamanda uluslar arası ticari faaliyetlerinde artışına sağlayacaktır. İlin gelişiminin hızlanması endüstri faaliyetlerinin istenilen düzeye ulaştırılması için Karadeniz - Akdeniz Bölünmüş Yol Projesi’nin Osmaniye ili için önemi büyüktür. Endüstriyel alanda sanayi-istihdam-üretim kapasitesinin artırılması yukarıda sözünü ettiğimiz ulaşım olanaklarının gerçekleştirilmesi ile daha üst seviyelere ulaşacaktır. Aynı zamanda önemli bir tarım sahası olan ilde ilerleyen süreçlerde tarıma dayalı sanayi faaliyetleri artırılabilir durumdadır. Tarım sektöründe zeytin üretiminin il genelinde artış göstermesi, zeytine dayalı sanayi kollarının geliştirilebilmesi buna örnek teşkil eder. İlin ticaret hacmi giderek artmaktadır. 2010 yılı 75.120.073 $ olan ihracat miktarı, 2016 yılı itibariyle 142.425.564 $ olmuştur. İlde önemli sorunlara bakıldığında sanayi faaliyetleri nüfus artışını etkilerken bunun sonucu olarak ta tarım arazilerinin yerleşmeye açılması,çarpık kentleşme kış mevsimi hava kirliği ,yine nüfus artışına bağlı olarak ortaya çıkan işsizlik ve ulaşım sorunları gösterilebilir.

The increase in industrial-employment-production capacity in the industrial field will reach higher levels with the realization of the transport possibilities we mentioned above.
