Dyeing with natural dyes takes place with the transfer of various plant and animal based natural dyes, found in nature, to natural and chemical fibers like modern dyeing methods. The synthetic dyes, which have been synthesized in the laboratory medium since the beginning of the XIXth century, have been presented to the market in large quantities and inexpensively. However, nowadays it is understood that not all of the many dyestuffs obtained by synthesis in this way are healthy for humanbeing. Additionally, the use of modern dyes and their wastewater loads can damage natüre immensely. Natural dyes have many environmental advantages due to their healthy and ecological characteristics. That's why natural dyes, which have left their place to synthetic versions at the beginning of the XXth century, have gained importance again due to the increasing desire of people to return to natural and environmental life style. It should not be forgotten that natural dyes are sustainable, renewable and natural as well as ecological. In this review, we have focused on the designs of textile products (sweaters, dresses, skirts, shirts, etc.) made from natural fibers such as cotton, silk and wool etc. and chemical fibers such as polyester colored with natural dyes. The types of natural dyes used in coloring these products, extraction and dyeing methods also were examined separately in detail.
