The Ottoman Empire’s First World War adventure ended with the Mondros Armistice Agreement signed on October 30 1918. After armistice, the Entente States began their activities to share the Ottoman lands. British, French and Italian occupations as well as the occupation of Izmir by Greece is one of the most important reasons for the National Struggle. In this period congresses started to gather as a result of Mustafa Kemal Pasha’s come to Samsun and work for resistance to occupations. Mustafa Kemal Pasha was elected the president of the Erzurum Congress and the Congress formed a Representative Delegation to defend the rights of cities sending congress representatives. Mustafa Kemal Pasha was elected the president of this delegation. As a result of the decision taken during the Sivas Congress, this delegation began to represent the whole country. After that, it was decided to issue a newspaper to tell the National Struggle to the public. The name of this newspaper decided to be published was determined as İrade-i Milliye. The İrade-i Milliye continued to be published until the publication of the Hakimiyet-i Milliye newspaper in Ankara. In this study, the articles published in the İrade-i Milliye newspaper will be examined. Thus, it will be examined how the İrade-i Milliye continued its publishing life, what kind of topics it had and how events of the period were evaluated.
