Abstract:

Namık Kemal was the one of the most important name in the Tanzimat period drew a different position by interested and with the problems of the Ottoman Empire and the public. He offered some solutions about this problems thus he was one of the most efficient writer of his period. He proved his ideas about language and the alphabet several times in different articles. According to his ideas the language has a importance by reuniting the minorities, and avoiding the peoples’s interestto the foreign languages. Also he asserted that the Turkish language must be used as a basic language in the education and empire’s establishments. But he had consarvative ideas about the alphabet. According to him to change the alphabet was a impossible achieve. He thought that the alphabet was one of the prolongation of cultural areas ofİslamıc thought. Namık Kemal’s ideas are important for to understand the today’s paradigm about language and alphabet. So these ideas must be analysed with a integrative perpective.
