Bu araştırma lisans düzeyinde mesleki müzik eğitimi alan öğrencilerin farklı değişkenler açısından iş umudu düzeylerini ortaya koymak amacıyla yapılmıştır. Araştırmada, betimsel nitelikli tarama modeli kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu, 2015-2016 eğitim- öğretim yılında Türkiye’de lisans düzeyinde mesleki müzik öğrenimi gören toplam 791 öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Veri toplama aracı olarak “İş Umudu Ölçeği” kullanılmıştır. Bu ölçek ve kişisel bilgi formundan elde edilen veriler Tek Faktörlü (Yönlü) Varyans Analizi (ANOVA) ve Welch testi ile analiz edilmiştir. Elde edilen sonuçlar çalışmaya katılan mesleki müzik eğitimi öğrencilerinin psikolojik güçlendirmeye dair iş umudu puanlarının yaş, bölüm, sınıf ve eğitim ortamının çalışmaya teşvik ediciliği değişkenlerine göre anlamlı farklılık gösterdiği; amaç yönelimli yola dair iş umudu puanlarının ise bölüm, bireysel çalgı ve eğitim ortamının çalışmaya teşvik ediciliği değişkenlerine göre anlamlı farklılık gösterdiği sonucuna varılmıştır.
