Abstract:

novel centers around the forced migration of Turks from the Balkans as from the second half of the 19th century. Being a historical one, Alptekin’s novel could also be evaluated as a “migration” novel since it focuses on the Balkan exile. From this aspect, the novel reflects the general characteristics of “migration” novels. The main fiction and basic elements (time, space, characters) of the novel were formed with the phenomenon of “migration”, which is remarkable. This study has examined and evaluated how “migration” novels, which could be evaluated as a subgenre of historical novels, are shaped with the phenomenon of “migration” in the novel.
