Abstract:

A scale was not seen in the literature related to the measurement of student recognition competence of teachers. Today, a valid and reliable scale is needed to determine this competence of teachers and prospective teachers. Within this scope, the aim of this study is to develop a scale that can be used to measure the recognition competence of teachers and prospective teachers. Validity and reliability studies of the scale were carried out with the participation of a total of 1169 teachers and prospective teachers. It was determined as a result of exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis that the scale had a 4 factor-structure which explained %49,32 of total variance. It was found that the Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin (KMO) coefficient of the scale was 0,938 and Barlett Test significance value was χ2=6667,487 (p=0.000). Cronbah’s Alpha reliability coefficient of the scale was found to be ,91. The correlation between the two applications which can be shown as a proof for the consistency of the scale is ,88. Confirmatory factor analysis showed that the four-factor model fitted the data (RMSEA= ,054, SRMR=,042, NFI=,96, CFI=,98, GFI=,92, AGFI=,90). The adaptive values of the scale are between the determined standard values, which shows that the adaptive values of the scale are quite high.
