Abstract:

The aim of this study is to develop a measurement tool to determine the perceptions of high school students about the quality of life of their schools and to study the perceptions of school students about the quality of life according to certain variables. The universe of research is formed by 5783 students studying in the professional high schools in the Afyonkarahisar district in the 2016-2017 educational year. The sample consists of 550 students selected from all high schools through a layer-proportionate sample method. The study used the school quality scale developed by the researcher to measure the perceptions of school life quality. In addition, a personal information form is prepared in order to obtain demographic information about students. Data analysis uses verifying factor analysis, t-test and variance analysis (ANOVA) techniques. As a result of the analysis, the quality of life of students in their schools is generally perceived at a medium level, the quality of life in the school perceived does not differ according to gender and class presence. However, as the class level and the income level of the family rise, the conclusion was that the students understood the quality of life in their schools.
