Abstract:

The study is aimed to examine the organizational commitment of the housekeeper and to determine the relationships between individual variables and organizational commitment. The study has been conducted on the housekeeper of the hospitals who purchase the housekeeping services and work under the Ministry of Health in the central of Ankara. The number of person, selected from each hospital, by calculating the proportion to the total number of employees is found 337. The housekeepers’ organizational commitment is measured by the organizational commitment scale adopted by Wasti. It is found that the mean values of the organizational commitment of the employees (=4.85), and it is subdimensions as affective commitment (=4.71), continuance commitment (=4.99) and normative commitment (=4.86) are higher than the average mean value (=4.00). Organizational commitment varies depending on the employers’ age, working period at the company and the job.
