Abstract The purpose of the Children's Literature products is to contribute to the psychological and intellectual development of children. Elementary and Secondary education represent the educational range demanding the spiritualization of national and moral values. The students in the impact zone of globalization, therefore, need to have a firm ground. It has been established that children supposed to be educated in affiliation with the national and moral values head towards a tendency othering the cultures and nations out of themselves due to the influence of inappropriately chosen texts. It is also understood that the literary texts involved in elementary and secondary course books yield results and load values contrary to the expectations in terms of pedagogical and cognitive view. In this context, another issue is the problem of language and style. However, as the texts involved in the course books are examined carefully, it is found out that they were chosen carelessly far from the target expectations. In this study, sample texts cited from the Turkish Course book for the 8th grades and the compositions written by elementary and secondary school students will be analyzed by deconstruction technique proposed by J. Derrida. Key Words: Children's Literature, Deconstruction, Othering, Mind, Narration.
