Globalism, especially after 1980s, has caused variations in the structure of employment in Turkey like the entire world. Labor demand characteristics have changed, i.e. unskilled labor has been replaced by highly knowledgeable, educated labor due to the adaptation of new technologies. The variations in labor structure have been further spurred by the variations in working conditions. The decline of industry employment, the increase of service sector employment in which the qualified workforce shows less interest in the unions and the new working models (e.g. flexible/partial time employment) aggravated the problem of effective organizations of unions. All of today's changes have made it necessary a fundamental change in the World and Turkey's union structures. Classical union formations are incompetent to solve the problems of today's workers and society's expectations. In this working, investigations and researches are shown concerning the formation of new union structures.
